"The journey is the reward."

- Steve Jobs

16 June 2019

In my very own house
I sit in my comfy chair,
Thinking a bit much.

Dwelling even more
A loud deafening silence,
Surrounds me with angst.

I reach for the phone,
seeing your call, then I speak
hi Dad, is it you?

On the other side,
hoping to hear your voice but
I only hear silence.

I feel your presence,
His spirit embraces me,
Speaking silently.

Memories of you,
still roll tears down my cheek but
fill my heart with strength.

With each passing day,
my pain is a little less
not totally void.

Not a day goes by,
without thinking of you and
hearing your presence.

Somedays are better,
others see just a struggle
to just fight through it.

Cherished memories,
quickly fill the empty voids
of you being gone.

With each passing year,
I’ll take time to remember
milestones and you.

It was not easy,
but I knew the day would come
where I’d walk alone.

This is one lesson,
I had to learn without you
standing by my side.

You said your good bye,
until we meet once again,
you’ll watch over me.

I said my good bye,
As I felt your hand let go,
I knew you were gone.

Not now, but one day,
We will meet once again
At heaven's entrance.

Happy Father’s Day,
May your light shine on me all
My remaining days.
