Amidst autumn’s cobalt blue cloudless sky,
A northern wind welcomes the season’s change.
Days grow shorter and clocks yield an hour,
Like summer played a cruel practical joke.
Trees begin answering to season’s change,
With the slow transformation of their leaves.
From mixed emeralds of spring and summer,
To vivid reds and golds of autumn.
Animals scurry for their final feast,
As they prepare for their long winter’s sleep.
Children trade their endless summer play dates,
With school days filled with new discoveries.
Last of fruits and vegetables harvested,
Bringing the season's bounty to an end.
Dinner chats over hearty soups and stews,
Warm the souls of families and their friends.
As the first cool breeze whispers its presence,
The sun’s warmth diminishes just as quick.
When the sun begins to rest earlier,
Winds whisper through the deafening silence.
Much like a subtle gentle reminder,
Leaving life’s lessons in the night’s darkness.
Only echoes of yesterday remain,
When tomorrow’s faceless shadows appear.
