PRISONER OF WAR
overpass of the interstate highway,
living with his few fellow companions.
His bad breathe was monstrously atrocious,
only smelling better then the dumpster
where he harvests his daily nourishment.
His body odor, not any better,
since his only clothing is limited
to exclusively what's on his back.
His soul possession consists merely of
the clothes on his back, spare change and a cross
bestowed to him by his own dear mother.
His purple heart, scarcely a memory
of the days of being a brave soldier
performing patriotic war duties.
His pride soared higher than the eagles fly,
yet, this is where society left him
when he came home from the courageous fight.
His past pride now diminished to despair
in thinking that tomorrow's another
day that he will battle for survival.

MY LAST CORDIAL VISIT
threatening to take away my dear life from me.
But my old friends miss me, as much as I miss them.
I haven't seen my old friends for a while now.
I really don't know who to visit first right now,
should I visit Mr. Bartles and Mr. James?
or should I go visit Mr. Daniels and his wife?
I haven't seen my old friends for a while.
I go visit Mr. Daniels and his wife,
then proceed to visit Mr. Bartles and Mr. James,
both are sitting on the wooden porch,
gossiping about everyone's business in town.
Then I decide to move down the block and visit
Pierre Smirnoof and my girlfriend, Tia Maria.
But looks to me that the two are busy now,
only whispering sweet nothings to each other.
Their short bodies, long necks and flat bottoms
make them look like freaks from a circus show.
Despite their odd and bewildering looks,
they are still the only friends I treasure from long ago.
They have been there for me,
during the good times and carried me through the bad too.
Our friendship had always stuck through times;
Both thick and thin, good and bad.
They have been friends since way before high school,
we have continued our friendship in years after,
and continued to make it stronger
by getting together and sharing memories and dreams.
I enjoyed my last visit with them,
just as much as all the other times I visited them.
Now that I am ill, I can't seem to build on my strength and courage
as I once did in my younger days.
Farewell, my loyal friends its now time for me to
Say good-bye to all the times shared together.
They show no emotion, only sharing thoughts of me
in the brief words of an eulogy.
Now I prepare for my own final dark destiny,
six feet under the earth, in the garden of heaven,
with a concrete head and rotted remains
reminding them with my last words.
Perhaps,
I should go pay
my last cordial visit
right now.
ALAS, I AM TWENTY-ONE
I am twenty one,
Only to do as I desire,
No more excuses,
Just nostalgic
Childhood memories
Of games I uses to play.

BLINDED
I’ll stare back,
For what have I got to lose?
Only an honest friendship
And a thousand dreams
Had already been lost
With a blinded heart.

TRIUMPHING TURBULENT TIMES
The grasshopper leaps,
Hurdling tall blades of grass,
Plummeting towards the moist ground,
Only to spring up once more.

RIDICULUS RAMBLINGS
Passively panting,
Wandering waters.
Shining skies,
Watching waves
Mysterious whims.
Shallow shares,
Winding waters,
Turning tides.
Without warning,
Twisting tales
Wishing wants.
Emerging evergreen,
Waiting without
Your yielding.
Wanting wishes,
Turbulent turns,
Washing within.
Willing windows,
Brisk breezes
Wondering why.
Green grasses,
Wonderfully warm
Beautiful bodies.
Terrifying thunder,
Worship wonders,
Wildly working.
Worthless watches,
Sarcastic smiles,
Screaming silence.
While waiting,
Your years
Waste within.
Timeless tears,
Praising people,
Wasting waters.
Living lies,
With wonderful
Problematic perceptions.
Corrupting creative,
Cascading crescents,
Corrupting children.

SATAN'S CHOICE FOR PEACE
Defined in Webster's dictionary,
War is armed conflicts among nations.
In the wake, of a cold winter day,
Our world leaders, coming together,
As a united voice against war.
As each country appointee reveals,
Consequences of the decision
Concerning the fate of today's world
If there was to be a bloody war.
Under a protective umbrella,
Which shields us from our most dreaded fear.
The final judgment would affect me,
Each man, woman and child living
If there was to be no tomorrow.
At the steering wheel of all this,
Are the two super power leaders
Of the US and USSR
Having much needed support by each
Country despite its political
And its economical structures.
Laying on an old weathered park bench,
A newspaper left by someone who
Clearly only using the paper
To clean up after his dog's feces,
Apparently not taking the time
To see what's going on in the world.
