AGING ABIGAIL

With only a scarce amount of time left,
Aging Abigail Alzheimer,
Lay upon her death bed.

Looking back at her eighty-eight years,
Briefly, becoming eighty-eight
Prolonged seconds.

The hot sun,
Brought warm feelings to her mind,
Comforted by,
Pleasant memories and prosperity.

The sky gathers its
Gray clouds and heavy rain,
Open feelings of desperate despair
And letting loneliness sink in.

In a brief moment,
Transforming
Shining tranquility to
Somber depression.

She silently,
Slipped away,
Guided by the good Lord, she so loved.

TALE OF TWO ROADS

Somewhere in a small arcadian town,
There’s a road by the name of Angela.
Lost somewhere in a large urban city,
Exists a road by the name of Stephen.
She chose one road, but he chose another,
Not seeing each other for years to come.
As the roads appear to merge together,
Dark shadows of their silhouettes appear.
They come to know another by sharing,
All of their lives happiness and sorrows.
The road brought them together forever,
Angela and Stephen now walk as one.
Two separate roads now yield into one,
Now known to us all as husband and wife.

WHO ARE WE? ... IS ... WHO WE ARE!

So many times, I wondered about who are we,
`Till I realized our friendship was like that of
Everything two brothers brought up together by
Parents sharing strong values, tradition and love,
However, we're not brothers by family name.

Everything about us, seems to bring us closer,
Not only sharing our life's triumphs but downfalls
Just as if they're one in the same though we know they
Are all but two separate pieces of our lives,
Yet our lives have become fulfilled over the years.

Little did you or I know that when we first met,
An all awkward encounter would bring together
Not only a friendship, but something exciting
Growing over the years that we've known each other,
Enjoying and savoring times we shared thus far.

Life's twisted journey has only begun for us,
Rummaging through all the good and bad offerings
Only to be there for one another for what
Be each other's significant milestones as,
Each of us takes a separate path to being.

Rarely is someone able to find a true friend,
Though when it is found, it brings about fulfillment
Which continues to grow with each passing season
In what seems to be just such a short time we spend,
Living our lives on this majestic planet Earth.

Life's lessons are learned together through various,
Intimate moments of shared advice and insight
And taking each other's wisdom in helping us
Make our lives become more fulfilled with each other's,
Kept promises, shared secrets and tomorrow's dreams.

Only now as we grow in years together, I,
Value our friendship more than ever for priceless
Annuities it rewards us time after time
Creating a friendship unseparable by all,
Simply, it is not who are we? ... but who we are!

AMERICAN PRIDE

Mighty Eagle
soaring high,
never let them see you cry.

You stand for
strength and pride,
so true.

You won't show
the true feelings you have,
only to remain standing proud.

You spread your wings
with a majestic flair,
but only to hide a glossy stare.

You do it for our foolish desperation
to believe in something,
as solid as our nation.

When we are down and feeling blue
we come to you for strength and courage,
helping us through triumphant victories.

But is it fair
to hide in despair,
from the public eye?

For you must be true to yourself
and let out the gentle dove in you,
could it be, is that a tear in your eye?

Mighty Eagle
You dare not let down our faith,
I'm so proud of you!

HURRICANE ANDREW

The turbulent storm,
took the form
of a hurricane.
In vane,
robbed the ocean
of all treasure
in one motion
that no one could measure.
Gone are things from the past,
that were not put there fast
all forever gone
and done
by a turbulent storm
that left no form.
Leaving only traces,
of past faces
in its eye,
left to die.

TAXI

Standing alone on a corner,
A man.
Dark hair, dark eyes,
Shades and a heavy coat,
Looking up and down the street,
Noticing every move.
Especially the traffic
That of a fairly dead town.

Feeling a cold tap on his cheek,
He looks up,
Rain clouds.
He hopes not for a downpour,
But heavy clouds tease with sprinkles,
As thunder laughs deeply in the background.

Just to be safe, he steps back,
Closer to the tattered awning
Of a shop that had seen better days,
A sign stating, “Out to Lunch”
Permanently nestled in the window’s corner.

As the rain picks up, he gets restless,
As does the wind.
His vision shortened by buildings in the way,
He nearly misses yellow lightning
Passing him by.

Not knowing if the vision was real,
He runs after it desperately.
He sees it clearly, but it sees not him,
For it makes no stop.

Heartbroken and wet, he stands in the rain,
So he’s sure to see the next one,
And to be seen.

It’s so hard to get a taxi in this damn town.

THANKS FOR GIVING - UNITY

Lose the commercialism,
cherish the happiness of
family and friends.

Share the shining of
togetherness and love.

Remember those who
aren’t with us anymore
with cherished memories
and thoughts of love.

Hold together and say,
“I love you!”
As you’ve never done before.

Share thoughts of
being together once again,
eating well,
staying healthy,
and prosperity to all.

Answered prayers,
Being blessed by the Lord,
for all the beauty,
He has brought you and I.
